Kerala CM responds to Harsh Vardhan remarks on state Covid prevention
Trivandrum: Kerala Chief Minister , Pinarayi Vijayan has responded to the Union Health Minister’s remarks on the state’s Covid prevention strategy. The CM has responded that some people cannot focus on the state’s achievements on the low Covid mortality rate. Instead, they are in the pursuit of defaming the state. Earlier, Harsh Vardhan had criticized the state for easing restrictions during the Onam festivities. The ease of restrictions had contributed to a spike of Covid cases in Kerala. Harsh Vardhan had commented, “Kerala is paying the price for gross negligence during recent Onam festivities when state-wise unlocking of services with an increase in inter and intrastate travel for trade and tourism led to the spreading of COVID-19 cases. The epi curve of Kerala changed completely… daily new cases nearly doubled”.
